The Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde

Located on the heights of Marseille, the Notre Dame de la Garde basilica offers a magnificent view of the city. From the top of her bell tower, the “Good Mother” as she is affectionately called in the south, has been watching over the sailors, fishermen and all the people of Marseilles since 1864. It is even said that some players of OM lay candles there before important games!
